At Valadez Middle School Academy, chronic absenteeism has fallen 31% over the 5-year window — from 6.3% in 2017 to 4.3% in 2020. Despite that, the gap vs US average of ~28% has actually widened — from 21.7% below in 2017 to 23.7% below in 2020.
